Background: Sakura is a kunoichi affiliated with the village of Konohagakure, and part of Team 7, which consists of herself, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and their sensei, Kakashi Hatake. Sakura initially has an infatuation for Sasuke, praising him at every juncture, and heaping scorn upon the less skilled Naruto. However, as time passes she begins to shed this singularly driven persona, and grows more appreciative and accepting of Naruto.

Unlike the rest of Team 7, Sakura has not suffered any heavy losses during her childhood. Therefore, Sakura took for granted things that her team-mates desired, such as family and friends. She nevertheless is more understanding of her team-mates and others, and does not hesitate to ask if she does not understand something or if it bothers her.

Sakura learns of the various hardships Naruto faces: the Nine-Tails and Akatsuki. Saddened by the impact both forces have had on his life, Sakura becomes protective of Naruto and tries to do whatever she can to help him overcome these obstacles. Sakura begins to empathise with Naruto, and develops a deep friendship with him, due to their spending a lot of time together.

Within Sakura resides "Inner Sakura," a manifestation of her inner emotions. In addition to comic relief, Inner Sakura represents Sakura's actual opinion on things when she outwardly displays something opposite. She has an excellent control over her chakra, but it isn't enough for her. Knowing that she was the weakest link in her team, she began to seek training from Tsunade.

After training under Tsunade for two-and-a-half years, Sakura acquires the ability to heal wounds, becoming one of the most experienced medical ninja and surpassing her teacher. Sakura also gains superhuman strength,the ability to handle a sword, and perfecting her chakra control. Leaning from Kurenai, she enhanced her Genjustu and trained with Gai to better her Taijutsu. Now she seeks to further her skills on her missions and by seeking training from renown ninja.
