Jinora is the first child and eldest daughter of Tenzin and Pema and granddaughter of Katara and Avatar Aang. She lives on Air Temple Islandwith her parents and three younger siblings: Ikki, Meelo, and Rohan. Besides being taught airbending by her father, Jinora has an avid interest in books and is a rather quiet girl in general. She has a natural affinity withspirits and is one of only a handful of humans who can communicate with and perceive them in the physical world. As a result, she became AvatarKorra's guide into the Spirit World

inora was born to Tenzin and Pema in 160 AG on Air Temple Island. She grew up as one of only two airbenders in the world, until she was later joined by a sister, Ikki, when she was three, and a brother, Meelo, when she was five.

Jinora is a quietly reserved, intelligent, studious girl, much different from her younger, more rambunctious siblings. Out of Tenzin and Pema's four children, she is the calmest and most mature.

However, she does like to tease her siblings from time to time, causing her sister to perceive her as "mean and bossy".

She enjoys reading historical fiction, as well as her father's journals chronicling his adventures with her grandfather, Avatar Aang, and the adventures of Aang and his friends. She also has an interest in playing Pai Sho, and is starting to find boys interesting, which troubles her father greatly

Jinora is a proud older sister since her sister ikki earned her tattoos at the same time she did.

Now free of training jinora still helps her younger brothers train like her father. Being the more calm and collected of the children she makes a good teacher. Like her sister she has become interested in pro bending and often can be found at the arena library or a tea shop on the main land.
